Designing My Thanksgiving Table 2022: Festive Inspirations for a Memorable Feast!

As the crisp Autumn leaves tumble to the ground and the excitement of the holiday season starts to warm our hearts, I'm excited to share my vision for " My Thanksgiving Table 2022 ". This special time of the year calls for a deep sense of gratitude, a delicious cornucopia of food, and meaningful connections with our most loved ones. As we gear up to set the stage for memorable conversations and laughter, I'm here to inspire you with tablescape ideas and tips to make your Thanksgiving gathering unforgettable. Let's get ready to serve up elegance along with your turkey feast!

Begin by selecting a color palette that is the traditional Thanksgiving colors, and are both inviting and warm. Great choices include golds, oranges, and reds. For a nice statement piece, consider a unique table runner or a decorative tablecloth. After laying out the tableware, such as plates, glasses, and cutlery, in a way that is both aesthetically pleasing and practical, add a centerpiece to the middle of the table. For a more traditional look, opt for a cornucopia or a vase of flowers. For a more modern look, consider an arrangement of pumpkins, gourds, and greenery.

You can also add a few small decorations such as candles or fall-themed place cards to make the table look more festive. Hang a few decorations such as garlands or lights for an extra touch of festivity. Set the mood with a Thanksgiving playlist and some cozy lighting. Don’t forget to pull out the cozy throws and pillows for extra comfort! With these tips and tricks, hopefully, you’ll find inspiration to host the perfect Thanksgiving Table this year!

Fall floral arrangement

Whether you’re hosting a formal dinner or a casual gathering, My Thanksgiving Table has you covered. Incorporate classic Thanksgiving colors such as reds, oranges, and browns into your floral arrangements to create a festive atmosphere. Add texture to your floral arrangements with seasonal leaves, twigs, and berries to make them look even more stunning and festive. Consider using seasonal blooms like chrysanthemums, sunflowers, and dahlias to give your table a truly autumnal feel. For an extra festive touch, add pumpkins, gourds, and other Fall decorations. Fragrant herbs like rosemary, sage, and lavender can also be used for decoration or even as part of the meal. Place a single large flower or a few small ones in the center of the table for a classic look. Alternatively, use small vases or mason jars to display smaller bouquets. For a bolder look, create a focal point by arranging large, tall flowers in the center of the table. Use white or cream as an accent color to make other colors stand out and give your table a finished look.

Creating my arrangement this year was tough. I no longer have my amazing florist nearby who did all my centerpieces before we moved to Texas. I tried my best to make my own and went out to the supermarkets. All I found were old flowers that were falling apart on me. My sweet florist from Cali went the extra mile for me and found and called a local florist nearby in The Woodlands, TX without me knowing and had them piece together a beautiful flower arrangement just the way I would like it based on my inspo pictures. I love the leafy elements of the arrangement against the soft pastel colors of the flowers. It gives it beautiful natural elements!

Place Settings

I used white dishes and serve ware to make the table timeless and classic and added pops of color with seasonal fruits and vegetables such as pumpkins, pine cones, eucalyptus, gourds, and cranberries. Be sure to accentuate the table with a few metallic pieces for a touch of glamour. I wanted to break up the colors plus use my new dishes, so I went with the beautiful Lenox French Perle Scallop place setting. I added in my all-time favorite Amazon finds with my gold silverware. Lastly, I found these adorable napkins on Amazon and tied a velvet ribbon as napkin rings/holders that gave a beautiful texture and visual interest. I love it when I can find multiple uses for things! This gave a soft layer and offset the centerpieces with all the color!

Accents

Accent candles and candlesticks are a great way to add a touch of elegance to your Thanksgiving table. They come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, so it's super easy to find something that will fit your theme and décor. Place the candles on the table to create a cozy atmosphere and add a touch of elegance to the room. Use different colored candles to create a vibrant look, or mix and match to create a unique and personalized touch. They are also great for setting the mood and creating the perfect ambiance for your Thanksgiving dinner. When the candles are lit, the flickering light will create a soft and inviting glow, making your guests feel right at home. Candlesticks are an easy and affordable way to make your Thanksgiving table look beautiful and inviting. I found mine at Sur La Table along with my gingham table runner. Gingham is a timeless pattern that will never go out of style, making it a great choice to use year after year. With the checkered pattern available in a variety of colors, you can choose a runner or tablecloth that best fits your Thanksgiving table. Not only is the gingham pattern beautiful, but the lightweight fabric allows it to drape nicely, giving your table a polished look.

I also added a small charcuterie board as part of the table decor to get people to come to the table before dinner was served and give a beautiful element that tied into the pears & pomegranates. Choose an array of meats, cheeses, nuts, olives, and crackers that will create a delicious and attractive presentation. Layer the board with different textures and colors to make it more interesting, and include a few seasonal items such as cranberries, pumpkin seeds, and spiced nuts. Add a few sweet items such as honey, jams, and candied nuts to give it a festive flair.

Food & Wine

Nothing says Thanksgiving like traditional food and wine. I always love to have elements on the table that make sure my guests know they can sit and enjoy at any time. Having open bottles of wine and simple charcuterie boards allows for this comfortable snacking. This also makes sure your guests don't go hungry or thirsty while you are preparing dinner and tending to other guests. This Thanksgiving we are serving Decoy wines, both with a red and a white, so our guests can choose their favorite. To see all that Decoy has to offer for your Thanksgiving day gatherings and where you can pick up their brand locally head to their website -here-. For the simple charcuterie board, I did cheeses, crackers and grapes. Our local H-E-B has the most delicious varieties of cheese balls, and I grabbed an amazing pecan one! Mixing the cheeseball up with a few other cheeses gave the board variety, yet still keeps it simple. Also, make sure not to do anything too heavy, as you have a big meal coming soon!

With these simple touches, your Thanksgiving table will be transformed into a warm and inviting space for your family and friendships. Your guests will be delighted by the atmosphere of your Thanksgiving table and you will be sure to have a memorable celebration. That is my Thanksgiving table decor for this go around. The last Thanksgiving table I did, linked -here- included more pastels, so this difference was such a fun way to mix things up in our new home. I hope you enjoyed this read and the pictures, and I hope it gave you some inspiration and creativity for your next holiday table decor. Creating the table decor for the Holidays has always been such a special hobby for me. I can remember being a young girl and loving helping my mom set the table for a regular weeknight dinner. It was so important to me to have a dinner for our family at the table. It helped me feel all grown-up and explore my creativity in decorating skills! So now that I officially am a grown-up I put a lot more thought and energy into my table settings, and I still love every single moment of it! This year I had the pleasure of hosting our Friendsgiving, so of course I decided to make a real production of it. I got to work with a few of my favorite companies to showcase all the amazing work they do.

Here is a list of Vendors I was so blessed to work with! Feel free to click on their Instagram handles to see more of their amazing work along with how to get in touch with them for your next event this year!

The Charcuterie Table

A charcuterie board or table is such a fun element to add to any party! It adds a relaxed vibe to any elegant event and makes for a great meeting point. The foods you can get creative with and can range from anything like traditional cheeses & salamis to veggies and fruit. Anything in season goes so well here! A board also makes for fun textures and color schemes. There should be plenty of options for even the pickiest of eaters! I love using everything that is in season for this because provides the freshest of ingredients and gives a great vibe to your table, board or plate!

The Drinks

No party is complete without a drinking station!! I try to put the drinks in a different area than the food just so people will move around and not stick to one place or corner at a party. It's always best to fully utilize the space you have and spread things out! For most of our events, I have a mix of beer, wine and one signature cocktail. Doing one signature cocktail cuts down on the waste of alcohol along with the cost (as well as the tipsy guests haha!!) I loved using all Robert Hall wine varieties so that everyone had a wine they would enjoy! No two people or wines are alike so the variety made sure everyone had something that they could enjoy!

The Tablescape

This might be the most memorable thing for your guests if they are visual people! I always love a table that is functional as well as gorgeous! I try to keep room for glasses in the center and my centerpiece below or above eye level so people can see across the table. Since this was a Thanksgiving gathering I wanted to use a Fall color scheme, but I of course wanted to incorporate my all-time favorite color of pink on this table as well. I am always keeping colors on the lighter side because that is the vibe I love and they looked nice against the wood tones in the tables and chairs. I added a mix of different collections of chairs to add a home/family element to the table and give an instant feeling of warmth. They are all from Stockroom Picks, a local vendor, along with the glasses and candlesticks that gave an eclectic style and charm. The beautiful flower centerpiece fits in just perfectly with these elements from Floral Flower Cart! The dishes and place settings are my everyday dishes that added a light touch to the darker table, and I LOVE how they turned out together! I finished off the place settings with a personalized leaf place card that was handwritten. This added a decorative piece to the autumnal place setting and was a perfect special touch.

The linens I used here are cheesecloth that I ordered on Amazon and died myself with Ritdye. I ordered it all on Amazon and shared them on my Instagram stories of how the dyeing process went. To get the light color I suggest using VERY little dye and following the instructions exactly. I ended up dyeing mine twice. The first time the pinkness came out too bright and I washed them with hot water several times to get it a little lighter and used those inside on the charcuterie board and drink station. I wanted them lighter on the table so I did it again and used very little dye! I used a mix of the petal pink color and tan, linking them both below for you. For the napkins, I used the same process and cut the tablecloth into the amount of napkins I needed. Tied them in a knot and they were good to go.

The Food

After about 7 years of hosting events as a married gal, I’ve learned a few tricks on how to manage my time and not have a meltdown in the kitchen. Two tips of advice are to know what your strengths are and how to simplify. I know that my strengths are as a baker and although I cook meat fairly well, if someone can do it better I’m all for it! So this Thanksgiving I gladly handed off the task to my friends at Exeter Meats. They smoked the turkey for our Friendsgiving (and are making one for our family Thanksgiving) to perfection!! It was so moist and delicious that I don’t think I will ever go back to cooking turkey myself! Another helpful hint when planning for a party is when you can do something the day before, do it! This always helps too in the case of something unexpected coming up. I made most of the dishes the day before and left a little time off of each recipe to finish cooking the day of right before it was time to eat! Last note on the food, having good high-quality pans that cook food well helps to ensure each dish will always be the best. I will link my favorites I used for this Thanksgiving below from my friends at 360 Cookware.

Let the times we have with our love ones remind us of what we are most thankful for. I am so thankful to share my life with you and hope I am always here to bring joy and helpful tips that will simplify your life and add just a little more beauty to it!

Have A Very Blessed Day, Amanda Warren
