We wanted something that felt relaxed, coastal, and full of personality—without doing a full renovation. So instead of tearing everything out, we made one big, intentional choice that changed everything: we brought in a light blue range from Kucht and designed the rest of the kitchen around it.

Why We Chose a Light Blue Range

We knew we didn’t want another white-on-white kitchen. It needed contrast, warmth, and something that actually caught your eye.

It feels coastal without being overly themed, adds just the right amount of color, and makes the whole space feel more thoughtful. Instead of blending in, the kitchen finally has a focal point—and it set the tone for every other decision we made.

Building a Coastal Kitchen Around One Statement Piece

But realistically, this isn’t a long-term home for us. And while a backsplash would look amazing, it’s not the kind of upgrade we’d get a return on when it comes time to sell.

So for now, we’re leaving it as-is—and honestly, the space still feels complete. The range carries so much of the visual interest that we don’t feel like we’re missing anything.
